Buoys

Multiple buoys are placed in all systems the VRC is interested in, whether we have a permanent civilian or military presence in those systems or not. These are high security, tamper proof buoys, which function as listening devices and as data storage backups. If something should happen in a system, this gives us the possibility to find out what happened, and if deemed appropriate, to get even.

These buoys are not to be confused with OU navigation buoys. They are completely silent buoys which will only release their data when the proper authorisation codes are received.

Trading contacts

Because of the continuing exploration efforts the assets of the VRC keep getting bigger and bigger. Within VRC space there is no need to hide this fact, which means that operations can be organised as efficiently as possible with a minimum of overhead. However, the VRC would like to keep the size of its assets hidden as much as possible. To this end it operates its external contacts through a vast spiderweb of front offices and subsidiaries that are either directly or indirectly controlled by the VRC.
