This is a subset of the rules discussion page from Peter Pig's site. This was taken on June 23rd 1999, and was edited to make the AK47 addenda better readable and printable. There is no guarantee that this page is correct. Please check the original for up-to-date info.
This page is a new idea. The idea is that we can publish people's ideas for amendments. our own clarifications of rules and other related material.
3. Some ideas for cavalry in AK47
5. Ideas for helicopters in AK47
6. Rule ideas for Indirect fire in AK47
Peter Pig will produce at least one pack of cavalry for the AK47 rules. There are no rules at present in AK47 for cavalry. So here are some ideas.
Movement
Increase movement to.........8 add a D6.
Firing
Firing. +1 for firing at cavalry as they are a more conspicuous target.
Mounting and dismounting.
Cavalry dismount and then move as infantry or mount and then move as cavalry. Thus
troops either mount at very start of moverment or at very end of movement. they may
not mount or dismount in consecutive turns. this means that cavlry that dismount or
mount must stay in that mode for at least the next turn.
Your comments?
Helicopters must be declared at game start as either having door gunners or rocket
capability.
Door gunners have an arc 90' either side. ie 45 ' either side of straight out Left
and right. Front/nose gunners have a 90' arc either sifde of straight ahead. Gunners count
as HMG, measured from the base of the helicopter. These can do collateral damage.
Rockets need a 5,6 in order to lock on. Count as AA gun with collateral damage.
Indirect fire is where the firer cannot see the target but is guided by an observer via a phone or radio link.
To Fire Indirect
Professional units need 4,5,6
Regular units need 5,6
Militia units need 6
The target must either be a templated area or a unit that is visible to another of the firer's units. All other artillery and mortar rules apply. I have assumed that the chances to fire increases with better class units to take into account that there would be radio com, munications.
Perhaps artillery units that are able to fire indirect should be grouped into a battery. They may not have ay other groups except tows.
