News Flash (03/10/2000) The show was a big success. No official news yet, but there were more than 350 paying visitors and lots of other people helping with the demos. Everybody was happy with how the show went. The megagame on Sunday also was a success with almost 40 participants. Photos will appear on this website as soon as I get them.

News Flash (12/07/2000) Previous news that the convention centre will be expanding were a bit optimistic. It will still be expanding, but this will happen at the earliest in 2001, at which time Murphy Mania might be expanded as well. Murphy Mania this year will be about as big as in 1999. The arrangements seem to be on track, and I hope to be able to put more info, including lists of traders and demos, up here shortly.

Introduction

On Saturday September 30 2000, the Delft-based gaming club Murphy's Heroes organises the 9th edition of Murphy Mania, her annual gaming convention. It will have something to offer to every taste within the games hobby, sporting a great variety of participation- and demo-games, representing all aspects of the hobby.

The participation games feature simple game rules, allowing everyone to jump in and have a go, without prior experience.

To make sure you will not be going home empty-handed, a dozen traders will be present, with new games, literature, miniatures and trading card games.

Sunday 1 October, the traditional mega-game will be organised, with tens of players and loads and loads of fun. Origami Roman galleys have been spotted...

At Murphy Mania, you will be presented with a great number of demo- and participation games, hosted by Murphy's Heroes and other clubs - from both the Netherlands and abroad. The show's pleasant and entertaining atmosphere will be further enhanced by a variety of re-enactment and fantasy groups.

General Info

Murphy Mania 2K will be held on september 30th 2000, in Trefcentrum Delftstede, Phoenixstraat 66, Delft. The convention will be open to the public from 10:00 till 17:30.
Admittance DFl 6,- (Dfl 5,- with coupon),
(supervised children under 12 free).
Megagame on Sunday: DFl 15,-

Location

Delfstede can be easily reached, both by car as well as by public transport. It is just a 10 minute walk from Delft Central Station. Tramline 1 stops in front of the building (stop Schoolstraat). Paid parking space is available across the street.

Murphy's Heroes

Murphy's Heroes is a gaming club in Delft with about 90 members between the age of 15 and 50. Every Saturday, and every first Sunday of the month, we come together in Delfstede to play lots of games, most of which will be demonstrated at Murphy Mania. We also organise lots of special events like yearly championships, our anniversary and kilo- and megagames.
